We are tucked into the end of a cul-de-sac within the suburban area of Turramurra. When you first view our kindy, you get an indication of the leafiness of the area, but it’s not until you walk through to our yard that the beauty of our environment is evident.
Our garden reflects the seasonal changes of the year, a learning situation in itself. It was designed purposely with the planting of deciduous trees almost 50 years ago.
We promote the environment by providing a compost bin, vegetable garden, worm farm, rain water tanks, thermometer and rain gauge readings, plus the two hens complete the picture.
The outdoor area also encompasses climbing equipment, including an old favourite climbing tree and many spaces and places of wonder and delight. For us it’s not all about fake grass and brightly coloured toys, but play via exploration and discovery of the natural world.
